Amanda Lo is a multi-genre acoustic and electric violinist currently based in New York, NY. Amanda has collaborated with artists such as Andrew Bird, Bill Whelan, Björk (Vulnicura Tour), Bleachers (MTV Unplugged), The Dillinger Escape Plan, Efterklang, Guards, Goldfrapp, Harry Connick Jr., JJ Lin (林俊傑), Judith Hill, Mícheál ó Súilleabháin, Mono, Natalia Lafourcade, Paul Simon, Ra Ra Riot, Rihanna (Met Gala 2015) and Sufjan Stevens. She has also appeared on America's Got Talent and The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. Amanda has performed as a soloist with The Chelsea Symphony, Metro Chamber Orchestra, NYU Symphony Orchestra, SYMPHO and the Westchester Philharmonic. In 2013, she was a guest artist in Sleep No More, the Punchdrunk Theater Company's immersive play. In 2014, Amanda premiered and recorded Deon Price's "Violin Concerto for Oneness" with Metro Chamber Orchestra, which was later released by Cambria Records/NAXOS. Her orchestral experience also includes performances with Artemis Chamber Ensemble, Chelsea Opera, The Knights, Nouveau Classical Project, S.E.M. Ensemble and Wordless Music Orchestra. Amanda is currently the violinist for hardcore string quartet SEVEN)SUNS and rock band The Ludlow Thieves. She is also the concertmaster and contractor of The Manhattan Camerata , a premiere world music chamber orchestra. In addition to her work as a performer, Amanda also serves as the Director of Special Programs and Outreach for SYMPHO Inc. (a New York-based contemporary and classical music nonprofit) and as a 2017 teaching artist for The Dream Unfinished + Corona Youth Music Project collaboration.
